BLU-BIRD Custom 1

The BLU-BIRD Custom 1 (Ballistics Logging Unit - Basic Information Recording Device Custom 1) is an on-board recording system built from Syntronics' Ballistics Logging Unit electronics suite. The customized package drawing is shown to the right. The unit can be powered by a MOFA battery. The unit provides 8 input data channels for digital and analog signals. It is capable of withstanding up to 20,000 G's. BLU-BIRD Custom 1 can be recovered and used multiple times, provided that the device is adequately protected within the airframe housing. Note that the BLU-BIRD Custom 1 fundamental packaging methods are similar to methods employed in other Syntronics' BLU-BIRD devices, where some users have supported more than a dozen tests with a single unit.

BLU-BIRD Custom 1 is fast, compact and extremely versatile. Windows software is provided to allow data download and conversion into standard formats. The software can also be used to select and activate channels, adjust sampling rate, and set the record time. Recorded data can be erased thereby enabling the device to be reusable. This module can record up to 8 channels of data, including analog inputs up to 100 volts. Users specify the voltage range of each channel, and Syntronics installs the appropriate voltage dividers on the board for the application.
